Do Good with The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington to make a positive impact on the lives of thousands of local families in need. This new social action initiative is a way for volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and interests to pursue a shared passion for tikkun olam (repairing the world). With service projects throughout the community, all year long, together we can inspire social change by feeding the hungry, caring for the earth, supporting Holocaust survivors in need and so much more.
“Volunteering at Common Good City Farm was a fun way to be active, help cultivate yummy food, and support a wonderful DC nonprofit! I also got to connect with some cool and interesting DC Jews over a gigantic patch of mint.” –Yael K.
Please check out our full calendar below to see how you can join in and DO GOOD!
For additional ongoing volunteer opportunities and ideas for families and b’nai mitzvah projects, see the jconnect volunteer page.
Federation’s Doing Good teamed up with PJ Library® to create Doing Good Guides that provide a way for adults to discuss Jewish values with kids, engage in hands-on activities and reflect on the experience as a family. Each guide focuses on a specific Jewish value to help your child understand the purpose and impact of this value in Jewish life.
