Jewish Family Services of Ulster County

JFS is the only non-profit mental health agency in Ulster County, New York providing in-home social work mental health services for older adults and their caregivers. We take care of those who otherwise would be left without the assistance for what they need.

One of the biggest challenges facing families today is caring for their senior relatives and enabling the older adult Regardless of financial means and to live their later years in dignity in the county they call home. We also increase the quality of life and decrease stress and tension in the goals of what we do.

Our senior population is growing and so too, are the conditions arising from aging: Depression, Anxiety, Loss, Disability, Dementia, Alzheimer’s are the most obvious problems.

However, in our rural county there are also isolation, loneliness, transportation difficulties, distance from family, and financial hardship which are just as debilitating.

Here are JFS, we are dedicated to assisting, educating, and supporting our seniors, their families, and communities through various programs, services, and supports. We hope that with these supports seniors can live independently remaining in their own home, caregivers and families can gain the relief and supports they need, and the community can grow, yet remain a familiar place for all residences.
