Jewish Coalition for Disaster Relief

JCDR brings together the experience, expertise and resources of Jewish organizations that assist victims of natural or man-made disasters on a non-sectarian basis. Its work maximizes the use of resources, coordinates the activities of its member agencies, informs the Jewish and general publics about the disaster and the Jewish response, and demonstrates the long tradition of Jewish humanitarianism during times of crisis. The Jewish Coalition for Disaster Relief is made up of Jewish agencies that have taken part in one or more Coalition responses over the past several years. In some cases, member agencies raise their own funds and/or implement their own disaster programs in addition to taking part in Coalition activities. The Coalition is coordinated by The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC).
