Family Crisis Center of Prince George’s County

Provides counseling and crisis intervention for people traumatized by domestic violence including instant services through its 24-hours crisis hotline; an emergency shelter with 55 beds for women and children experiencing domestic violence; family violence clinic; children and youth program; family support program; legal advocacy and anger management classes.

Accepts donations of: Used or broken cell phones (including chargers) • Bus Tokens, Metro Cards or Gas Cards; Household Need for Safe Passage Emergency Shelter including: Twin sized sheets (flat & fitted) • Twin sized comforters or blankets • Standard sized pillows & pillow cases • Placemats (cloth & plastic) • Bath towels & wash cloths • Clear shower curtain liners & cloth shower curtains with hooks • Bedroom lamps in various sizes • Small bedroom trash cans • Food storage containers (i.e., sandwich & freezer bags, Tupperware or Gladware, aluminum foil, plastic wrap) • Household cleaning products, including dish cloths & scrub pads • Small appliances, etc. electric irons, toaster ovens, can openers, etc.; Items for the Participants including: Standard size toiletry items (i.e., soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, face wash, lotion, shampoo/conditioner, feminine hygiene products) • Baby care items for infants and toddlers (i.e., pampers of all sizes, baby wipes, baby powder, diaper rash cream, bottles, bibs & burp cloths, baby wash cloths, baby wash & shampoo, baby laundry detergent, ear thermometer, medicine dropper) • New underwear, socks, t-shirts, and pajamas for women and children of all ages (all sizes) • New professional and casual clothing items for women and children in all sizes • School supplies, books, and workbooks for children in various grades • Laundry detergent, fabric softner, bleach • New seasonal items such as one-piece swim suits/trunks, sunscreen, sun hats, coats, gloves/mittens, hats/toboggans, rain gear/umbrellas • Items for Participants Moving into Their New Homes: Small appliances, etc. electric irons, toaster ovens, can openers, etc. • Furniture, floor lamps, trash cans, bed linens • Pots and pans, cooking utensils, cutlery • Tableware (i.e., plates, bowls, cups, mugs, silverware, table cloths, placemats) • Bath sets (i.e., rug, shower mat, toilet seat cover) • Shower curtain, liner, & hooks • Paper products such as toilet paper and paper towels • Household cleaning products, including dish cloths & scrub pads
Seasonal Needs: New coats and jackets for our women and children (September – January) • Golves, mittens, hats, caps, and scarves (September – January) • Back to School supplies in (August/September) • Toys and presents for women and children (Christmas Holidays) • Easter baskets • Thanksgiving food baskets and/or food drives held for the Family Crisis Center • Turkeys for Christmas and Thanksgiving as well as non-perishables
