“Footsteps of My Father”, being screened in honor of Jewish American History Month, V-E Day (May 8th), and Yom ha-Zikaron, uncovers an act of extraordinary courage by Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds, a devout Christian from Knoxville who risked his life to save the lives of 200 Jewish G.I.s when they were prisoners of the Germans in WWII. Stanlee Stahl is the Executive Vice President of The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous (https://jfr.org/). The Foundation, seeks to fulfill the traditional Jewish commitment to hakarat hatov, the searching out and recognition of goodness.
The JFR honors and helps non-Jews who risked their lives saving Jews during the Holocaust. Q and A following the film with Ms. Stahl and Colonel/Rabbi Ari Soussan.
