Israel Through Film – Our Shaliach Nadav is our host for a 3-part film series that explores what it is like to go through basic training in the IDF and serve in the complex environment of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The movie is followed by a Q&A with an active reservist. Israeli snacks and drinks will be served.
The year is 1989. In a time of Palestinian demands for independence, the State of Israel sends young soldiers to oversee the Arab population in Gaza. After one of them is killed, the common fate of four young soldiers and one Palestinian family is sealed. The film shows the extraordinary journey of a young soldier dealing with the chaos surrounding him.
