White Oak Mikvah

The Silver Spring community is fortunate to have multiple mikvahs to choose from. On Shabbos and Yom Tov, women in White Oak – regardless of what Shul they belong to – can also take advantage of the White Oak Mikvah, conveniently located at SEHC.

Although the mikvah is intended for exclusive use on Shabbos and Yom Tov, it also may be used with special scheduling during inclement weather when the roads are impassible. The Mikvah may not, however, be used by men or for keilim.

To schedule an appointment: Please call the Mikvah Line at 301-404-7323 (a 24-hour private answering service) as early in advance as possible, so that arrangements may be made. You will be discretely called back with scheduling information.

Fees: There is a nominal annual fee for the ongoing maintenance of the Mikvah. The $40 annual membership fee entitles a woman to full use of the Mikvah as often as required during the year. (Out-of-town visitors can use the Mikvah for a $15 one-time fee.) The White Oak Mikvah is supported solely by Mikvah membership dues and donations and is not tied to any Shul or other Mikvah dues.

Donations: Your support and participation are greatly appreciated. Make your tax-deductible contribution in honor or memory of someone special. What better way to honor or remember someone than to help support such a wonderful and necessary addition in our community, whether or not you personally will ever need to use it? With a donation of $1,000 or more, you can honor or memorialize a loved one on a special ceremonial plaque.

Supplies: Mikvah supplies ($2.00 per package) and special calendars to help in your “counting” ($2.50) are available by calling Laurie Cohen at 301-681-7155.
