Arlington/Alexandria

Arlington is located between the Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor, the Crystal City/Pentagon City area, and South Arlington. It is the closest suburb in the Washington metropolitan area to the District of Columbia.

Arlington has an estimated population of 210,280. Not that many years ago, the Jewish community was sparse, but today the community is growing.  Its general population is racially, ethnically and culturally diverse.  Although best known for the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington boasts many high-quality neighborhoods from condos in Ballston and Clarendon to palatial homes in Country Club Estates.

Arlington is known for its neighborhood bike/jogging/hiking trails, ethnic restaurants and 7 live theatre stages.  Families enjoy the area with its many resources and services.  It is worth noting that the JCC in northern Virginia has the only full-time infant toddler program in all of the Greater Washington, DC area.

Old Town Alexandria retains much of the charm – and original architecture – of its 18th century roots, and there you will find some of the region’s most beautiful boutiques and one of a kind cafes and restaurants.  Many parts of Alexandria are a short distance from the Metro, and the city’s location just across the river from Downtown DC means you can not only drive or metro to DC but you can also take a water taxi to the National Harbor or the Georgetown Waterfront.
