William Wendt Center for Loss and Healing

A non-sectarian, comprehensive program of counseling, education, research, consultation, grief camp, crisis response and volunteer support. Programs include: Adult Counseling for children, teens and adults individually or in support groups; C.H.I.L.D program for children and youth impacted by trauma and grief; Camp Forget-Me-Not/Camp Erin DC, a free weekend, sleep-away grief camp that gives children an opportunity to enter a safe space; Crisis Response; The Lights of Hope Program, which provides candle light vigils for families in the Washington Metropolitan area regardless of cause of death; Crime Victim Services, RECOVER Program: Seven days a week, 52 weeks of the year, Wendt Center counselors are at the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the morgue, to provide counseling and support to families who must come to complete the identification process of their deceased loved one; Training and Education
