Vehicles for Change

Thousands of families in Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. are unable to get decent jobs and support themselves because they lack adequate transportation. Vehicles for Change (VFC), a 501(c)3 organization, removes that obstacle by accepting and repairing donated cars and awarding them to families at very affordable prices, enabling low-income families to become self-sufficient.

A nonprofit organization, VFC receives 99 percent of its car donations from the public. We refurbish cars that meet our quality standards and award them for as little as $750 to eligible families, who are referred to us by social service agencies.

VFC car donors gain a substantial tax advantage that’s not available with most other charities. We’re the only organization in the Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. region that makes it possible for donors to deduct the full fair market value of their car donation, because their donation is awarded to a low-income family.
