Council of participating Orthodox congregations and Rabbis.
The Va’ad of Washington – approving source of kosher facilities; maintains a BET DIN for dealing with matters affecting family status, i.e. adoption in accordance with Jewish law, and divorce, adjudication and/or arbitration of financial disputes, and other services essential to the traditional Jewish community. Supervises the communal mikvah. Maintains the city wide chevra kadisha providing essential services for the deceased. Symbol for kosher (K) with a dome around it.
