Where : The minyan is located in Room 1858 of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), in the old Post Office Building (2 Massachusetts Avenue NE, Washington DC). You must enter through the main entrance on 1st Street, N.E., immediately across from Union Station. Detailed directions are provided below.
When : The minyan meets as 12:45 PM; Monday through Thursday each week until day light savings time resumes. (The 12:45 PM starting time is adjusted upward slightly in February and March depending on the calculation of Chatzos.)
Please allow a few extra minutes the first couple of days to get through security. In order to get on the list at the guards desk to allow you in the front entrance of the BLS building, please e-mail Carl Barsky at Barsky.Carl@bls.gov.
Security: All attendees must proceed through security, which requires a photo ID, verification on an attendance list, and metal detector check. If you are receiving this email, your name will be on the attendee list.
Mishnayos learning begins 15 minutes before davening time. Contact Carl for more info.
Directions: If you are coming by subway, use the Red Line to Union Station and at Union Station take the First Street exit (as opposed to the Union Station exit). When you come out on First St., you will be directly across from the BLS building. After going through security, walk straight ahead through the double doors. At the right, just past the ATM, is another set of double doors. Go through these doors and turn left. About half way down the hall on the right is a recessed area where Room 1858 is located.
Minyan Snow Policy: The minyan will meet if the government is open!
Please note it is male only because it is held in a small conference room with a large table and there is no space for a mechitza.
