Montgomery County Humane Society

A private, 501(c)(3) non-profit established in 1958, MCHS is the preeminent animal welfare organization serving Montgomery County and beyond. MCHS’s mission is ending animal homelessness through education, outreach, and adoption, while saving lives and supporting the bond between pets and their families. MCHS rescues homeless cats and dogs from overcrowded public shelters and provides them with loving care, medical/ veterinary care, and socialization, and adopts them into permanent, loving homes. Proceeds from fundraisers and individual donations enable MCHS to protect and care for these at-risk animals by funding animal care, adoption services, and a wide range of other programs that help pet owners keep their pets at home and out of shelters. MCHS is 100% privately-funded, so community support means everything to our success!
