Jewish Fertility Support Group

Are you or do you know someone currently experiencing fertility problems?

Infertility is a major life crisis and affects 1 of 8 couples in the United States. Due to higher levels of education and later marriage some suspect this rate could be as high as 1 in 3 Jewish couples. Infertility involves many personal issues and is generally a private issue, not discussed or understood amongst friends and family. People dealing with this disease suffer many losses ranging from the loss of ability to get pregnant to negative feelings of self worth to lack of spirituality and hope for the future.

This peer led support group aims to serve Jewish women, under the care of a Reproductive Endocrinologist, in a safe, secure and informal environment. The group will help women feel less isolated, build their knowledge of how to handle various situations and assist women in dealing with this life crisis of infertility. Additionally, a Jewish perspective on fertility will be discussed.

The group will meet by phone the first Monday of the month at 8:00 pm EST/5:00 PST. Calls will last 60-75 minutes.

Please spread the word about this group to friends and family. It is difficult to initiate the first contact in attending a group like this, but the community that is built is a means to emotional survival for many.
