Camp Airy

Camp Airy is a boys camp located on 450 acres in Thurmont, MD, just down the road from its sister camp, Camp Louise, and near state and national parks as well as historic sites, including Gettysburg, Frederick, Hagerstown, Antietam, Harpers Ferry, and Emmitsburg.
A 24-hour-a-day, on-site security team and an on-site maintenance staff work hard to ensure the safety and security of our campers, staff, and facilities at all times.
Camp Airy’s on-site Health Center provides 24-hour coverage by licensed medical personnel. At all times, there are two physicians and five registered nurses living at camp. The medical team handles routine first-aid and medical needs, administers medications, and monitors ill campers and works with the local hospitals near camp in the event of an emergency.

• Camp Airy strives to create a meaningful, supportive Jewish community by encouraging campers to share their own beliefs and practices, explore life’s questions, learn from and listen to one another. Through Shabbat celebration, Israel programming, acts of social justice, and opportunities for personal growth, campers learn and explore what Judaism means to them. Camp Airy is an inclusive Jewish community that brings together campers and staff with a wide range of practice, knowledge and family make-up.

• BAR MITZVAH- If your camper is celebrating his Bar Mitzvah after camp and will need to practice, sign up on Drop-off Day for private lessons. Your camper will be paired with a knowledgeable staff member who will listen to your camper and make small corrections at an arranged time once a week.
