Chanukah begins on Sunday, November 28th. For the following week, Jewish families around the world will gather to celebrate the Festival of Lights with latkes, dreidels, gifts, giving back and more. You can join a community celebration or use our resources to create a celebration at home. Chanukah ends at sundown on Monday, December 6th.

Join us for a virtual, multi-generational event for PJ kids and their “grandfriends” to celebrate the Festival of Lights with stories, a de-light-ful craft project, and lighting the menorah (candelabrum used for Chanukah). Register by November 19th to receive the project materials in the mail.
This is a collaboration of PJ Library, Bender JCC, Edlavitch DCJCC, Pozez JCC’s Growing Jewish Families, HoneymoonIsrael, and The Jewish Federation of Great Washington.

Latke and/or donut lovers, join us for an intergenerational Hanukkah celebration at WHC. We have a slew of ways for you and your family to join us for prayer, food, and fun! Bring your menorah and candles, wear your funny Chanukah sweater (and other warm layers), get to know one another while eating fried foods galore, and learn more about Temple activities and groups. Celebrate the last night of Chanukah with other tweens while you complete holiday-themed missions and build a chanukiyah (candelabrum used for Chanukah) in a private Minecraft world! Lost Tribe counselors will take you on a journey you’ll never forget!
This program is open to PJ Our Way tweens ages 9-12 years old.

The Puppet Co. at Glen Echo is premiering Herschel and the Hanukkah Goblins by Eric Kimmel, and we want your family to join us! For this puppet show and playdate, please join us on the playground at 3:45 pm, and then enjoy the 4:30 show. This show is best for ages 5 and up.
The Puppet Co requires masks for all audience members over age 2 and proof of vaccination for those who are eligible. The theater has a reduced capacity to allow for social distancing between families.

Light up this year’s Chanukah celebration at your home with ideas for how to tell the Chanukah story in a way that is understandable to all ages, activities, and other prompts to make your Chanukah meaningful, memorable, and fun.
