Beth El’s Len Rubenstein is a professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. His book, Perilous Medicine, documents his investigation of atrocities against health care workers in conflict zones around the world. The Washington Post book review described it as a “…sad and necessary work. If only we take heed, we can make medicine less perilous and reaffirm our own humanity.” More information about the book is at www.perilousmedicine.com.

Robert Siegel reported news for several stations prior to being hired by NPR for an award-winning thirty-year career. In retirement, he is a literary contributor to Moment Magazine, conducts their Moment Live! Seminars, and moderates public affairs webinars for the American Friends of the Rabin Medical Center in Israel where he interviews experts on society, politics, medicine, and the economy as they address the complexities of these turbulent times.
