Bet Mishpachah is happy to welcome Otto Adelman as our speaker for Transgender Day of Visibility following our Friday evening at Shabbat services on March 31st. Otto is a Jewish transgender activist and public speaker, as well as an award-winning playwright, poet, and novelist. He is deeply involved in the nonprofit sector, working as a professional “Death Guy” (managing funeral logistics, yartzeits, and other end-of-life needs) for one of the largest synagogues in the US. His public speaking primarily focuses on transgender issues and identity. He has won multiple awards for his writing, notably the VSA Young Playwrights Award, which resulted in his work being performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. You can learn more about him on his website, https://ottoadelman.com.
Please join us in welcoming a fascinating speaker on the Transgender community and his own journey.
