Honor veterans for Veterans Day at the museum on Monday, November 11th. Join us at the museum anytime between noon and 4 to put together care packages for hospitalized veterans.

What to bring:
- Toiletries (toothbrushes, toothpaste, disposable razors, sample size cans of shaving cream, deodorants/antiperspirants, lip balm, hand lotion, etc..)
- Socks (must be NEW packaged), slippers (store bought non-skid only), underwear (must be NEW packaged), warm hats, sizes for both men and women
- Games, puzzles (complete with all pieces if pre-owned)
- Books, including large print, (must be very clean, in good condition)
Can’t bring anything? Just bring yourself to make cards, thank you notes, and put the materials we already have together into packages.
Watch while you help! We’ll be screening WWI silent films as we work:
- 12:30 – The Lost Battalion , 1919. Soldiers of the 77th Division penetrates deep into the Argonne Forest of France during the First World War. The battalion becomes surrounded and holds out for six long days, awaiting reinforcement and rescue. Includes cameos from real-life veterans of the Lost Battalion including Abraham Krotoshinsky and Jack Herschkowitz
- 2:30 – Shoulder Arms, 1918. Charlie Chaplin as Doughboy, a boot camp private who has a dream of being a hero who goes on a daring mission behind enemy lines.
