Session 2:  American Jewry Today
We will continue to reflect on the American Jewish experience with a deep dive into today’s realities. Our discussion will be both personal and universal and will include conversations around such topics as:

  • What does it mean to say, “I am proud to be Jewish?”

  • What does it mean to say, “I am a Jewish American?”

  • Who has a Jewish survival strategy? Religious Jews, secular Jews, or a different path?

  • What are the origins of post-Holocaust anti-Semitism, and how does it persist in today’s America?

  • Is there a paradox in building a Jewish survival strategy based on the Holocaust?

  • The Pittsburgh Platform of Reform Judaism (1885) and thereafter.

  • Where does the State of Israel fit into the discussion? How do you shape your narrative about Israel?
