Current Opportunities:

Jewish Council for the Aging Interages
Age 50+?  Contribute your skills and wisdom to make a difference in the life of a child.  Volunteer with Interages!  For more than 25 years, the JCA Heyman Interages Center has been bringing the generations together in Montgomery County.  The mission of Interages is to create a more age-integrated community by promoting improved communication, understanding, and quality of life for adults and youth.
As an Interages volunteer, you can:
  • Help MCPS students from pre-kindergarten through high school improve academically, socially & emotionally.
  • Volunteer at a school near you.  We have programs from Takoma Park to Germantown.
  • Choose from a variety of opportunities including literacy programs, cross-cultural groups, math clubs, discussion circles, and more.
  • Use your creativity to connect the generations.  Plan and lead interactive programs that students and nursing home residents can enjoy together.
  • Commit just 1-2 hours / week.  Our programs meet during and immediately after school and we observe all MCPS holidays and closures.
  • Decide what works best for your schedule.  We have short-term, weekly, and substitute positions available.
