New Israel Fund

The New Israel Fund (NIF) is an organization committed to democratic change within Israel. For twenty-eight years, NIF has fought for social justice and equality for all Israelis.

SHATIL, the New Israel Fund’s action arm, is the country’s leading capacity building center for social change organizations. It provides consulting, training, coalition-building assistance and other services to more than 1,000 nonprofit organizations each year.
The Ford Foundation established this grant making partnership to promote peace and social justice in Israel. Its primary areas of focus include promoting civil and human rights in Israel, seeking equity and equal opportunities for the Palestinian minority and achieving a peaceful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Fellowships
NIF’s unique fellowship opportunities enable young Israeli and American activists to receive the hands-on experience and training necessary to effectively enact social change within Israel. Fellowship opportunities are available for Israeli lawyers, recent American college graduates, and those interested in social justice.
Green Environment Fund
GEF in partnership with NIF aims to strengthen and professionalize Israel’s environmental movement, educate the public and promote sustainable growth and living while emphasizing environmental justice.
