The Morris Cafritz Center for Social Responsibility (MCCSR) organizes high-impact community service/volunteer projects and events that address unmet needs in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. For the past 25+ years the MCCSR has enabled tens of thousands of individuals to make a difference by volunteering in the community.
Volunteer Events include:
Handmade for the Homeless – Join fellow knitters and crocheters to make handmade goodies
Books to Prisons – Put together packages of books for prisoners
Jubilee Jobs – Help someone re-enter the workforce. Conduct mock interviews with Jubilee Jobs Placement clients and provide feedback to help them refine their interviewing and job searching.
Blood Drives
Hunger Action @ DCCK – Help DC Central Kitchen prepare meals for local area shelter residents and the homeless. Kitchen tasks include chopping vegetables, sorting fresh produce, mixing salads, portioning meals, preparing and cooking food.
Behrend Builders Shelter Repair and Construction Program – Creates volunteer activities to repair, rebuild and renovate low-income homes, homeless shelters, schools, community centers, and non-profits in the DC Metro Area. For ages 14 and older.
