Twice a year, in the spring and fall, classes are offered in the metropolitan Washington DC area servicing two locations, MD/DC and NOVA.
Fall 2008 classes will be held at Temple Emanuel in Kensington, MD beginning Sept. 5, 2008 and at Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation in Reston, VA beginning Sept. 8, 2008

Introduction to Judaism curriculum covers a basic outline for Jewish History, Philosophy and theology, along with a substantial introduction to Jewish prayer and ritual practice. This is a 16 week long course, and is taught by one instructor with an occasional visiting lecturer. Please call, email, or visit the URJ-MAC web page for registration materials.

Must be sponsored by a Rabbi or Cantor.

In the Washington, DC area, the course is offered twice a year, with two class locations: one in DC or nearby Maryland, and one in Northern Virginia. Classes begin in late January (or early February) and early September of each year.

The cost of this 16-week course is $300 for an individual, or $325 for a couple sharing one set of books. Members of a Reform congregation receive a $25 discount. The cost of the course includes seven books and a festive class Shabbat dinner held once a semester. Books are distributed at the first class meeting.
