Bender JCC: Book Festival and Literary Arts

Organizes the annual literary festival and monthly book clubs as well as the Kass Judaic Library. The Lessans Family Annual Book Festival is one of the largest Jewish Community Center book festivals in the United States. Featuring more than 25 author events and a book store with approximately 5,000 books, the event draws thousands of visitors from the community each year. In recent years, the Festival has featured authors including Mitch Albom, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Moshe Arens, Thomas L. Friedman, Alice Hoffman, Senator Joe Lieberman, Leonard Nimoy, Amos Oz, Jack Klugman and Stuart Eizenstat. ??? The Kass Judaic Library: The collection includes fiction, history, reference books, videos, DVD’s, and audio books and the library is fully computerized. New books are added every fall with newly published titles featured at the annual Book Festival Book Store ??? Book Clubs: The JCC offers three book clubs, with selections ranging from fiction to history to biography to contemporary issues ??? Books & Fellowship: A group for Jewish singles aged 45+
