Congregation Sha'are Shalom - Youth Advisor
Congregation Sha’are Shalom is seeking a part-time Youth Advisor for the 2019-20 school year. The Youth Advisor position requires energy, enthusiasm and excellent communication and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be a college graduate (current college junior or senior considered) be familiar with Conservative Judaism, have experience working with teens and serve as a positive Jewish role model. The position runs from mid-August 2019 through mid-June 2020. The position is under the supervision of the Director of Education and Youth Activities.

Responsibilities for the USY position include working with a student board, providing guidance while nurturing student leadership and initiative; planning with the teens a schedule of social and community service activities that will attract the congregation’s teens; working to develop social events with other area USY chapters, promoting and marketing chapter and regional events; and serving as a chaperone to regional events.

Responsibilities for the Kadima position including planning social and community service activities; working with other area Kadima chapters to plan joint events; promoting and marketing chapter and regional events; and serving as a chaperone to regional Kadima events.

This position can be shared between two people with one serving as the Kadima Advisor and the other as the USY Advisor.
