Museum of the Bible - Scribe

Job description:

  • Writing a complete Torah scroll that can be donated to a synagogue.
  • Work with team members, docents, interns, and volunteers as needed to provide education programs.
  • Oversee conservation and repair of MOTB Torah scrolls as requested by the Museum Collections department.
  • Create and develop education programs following established department procedures.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.


  • Knowledge of the Bible
  • Commitment to Museum of the Bible’s mission of inviting all people to engage with the Bible.
  • Extensive training and knowledge of the art of scribing and how to construct a Torah scroll.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook); able to easily learn other software packages. Smartsheet experience a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, plan, prioritize, manage details, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong customer service/communications skills.
  • Ability to interface professionally with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Personal and professional integrity.
