The Jewish Federations of North America (“JFNA”) represents 148 Jewish Federations and over 300 Network communities, which raise and distribute more than $3 billion annually for social welfare, social services and educational needs. The Federation movement, collectively among the top 10 charities on the continent, protects and enhances the well-being of Jews worldwide through the values of tikkun olam (repairing the world), tzedakah (charity and social justice) and Torah (Jewish learning). 

Position Summary
The Project Assistant works to implement the daily operations of the Center for Advancing Holocaust Survivor Care (“Center”). The Center is advancing person-centered trauma-informed (PCTI) supportive services for Holocaust survivors by distributing sub-grants to local agencies, and by providing technical assistance and capacity building support to sub-grantees and the Aging Services Network at large. The Center is in the third year of funding of a Congressional appropriation through a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Community Living that is renewable annually for up to five years. JFNA’s maintenance of this position is contingent upon subsequent Congressional appropriations and continued receipt of the grant. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Disseminate information about the Center’s request for proposal and program guidelines (RFP), webinars, technical assistance materials, surveys, and other Center products. 
  • Track documents that applicants and sub-grantees submit to the Center, and maintain log reflecting all communications transmitted to and from sub-grantees, and other Center stakeholders.
  • Create a standard operating procedure (SOP) manual on how to manage a program with multiple sub-grantees. 
  • Coordinate travel and vendor logistics for training workshops, meetings, and site visits. 
  • File expense reports for Center staff and ensure that all Center bills are timely processed. 
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations for Center events, help coordinate Center webinars, and maintain Center website.
  • Maintain the cohort web portal for sub-grantees by ensuring that it contains the most current forms and that all training materials are uploaded to it. 
  • Maintain Center calendar.
  • Complete other assignments as directed.


  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Interest in aging issues and a commitment to helping Holocaust survivors.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to learn how to use software programs and proficiency with MS Office Suite. 
  • Organized, professional self-starter with the ability to multi-task, work quickly and organize and track documents. 
  • Some U.S. travel required.
