Washington DC Jewish Community Center Hunger Action

The Washington DCJCC wants to help combat hunger and hunger stereotypes by supporting our local community kitchens and raising hunger awareness. The first and third Thursdays, we meet at the Washington DCJCC to prepare food that will be donated to the DC Central Kitchen, and then the first Sunday of each month we meet at the DC Central Kitchen to do the same. Hunger isn’t specific to homeless individuals — it’s a much more widespread problem. Our project activities are open and appropriate for kids of all ages (minimum age 16 without adult accompaniment).  Plus, not only are we a great group of service-oriented members, but we’re quite lively as well.  So, come help others while making new friends.  For more information call 1-888-246-1818 or email
