Special Needs Program Coordinator needed for the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington in Rockville. This position reports to the Director of Special Needs and Inclusion. Founded in 1923, the JCCGW is one of the largest metropolitan JCCs in the country. Our mission is to provide quality educational, cultural, social and recreational programs, services and activities in order to perpetuate and strengthen the Jewish Community. The Center is an active member of the JCC Association a network of over 200 Centers across North America and has received numerous awards for innovative programming. The Center is also nationally recognized as a role model for its inclusion programming for children and adults with special needs, including its award winning Camp JCC. Major responsibilities include Oversee adult classes for individuals with disabilities Oversee and lead weekend social groups Oversee inclusion support in after school programs and classes Oversee inclusion into Winter Camp, Spring Camp and FIG during school holidays. Support Special Needs department during summer months at camp Position is part-time from 2-6 Monday through Friday and full-time during Summer. Qualifications include At least one -two years experience working with people with disabilities in recreational and/or educational settings (required). Experience working with families.
